About Peter Steele
Peter Steele was a musician who rose to prominence as the lead singer, bassist and songwriter for the gothic metal band Type O Negative. He was also a member of the band Carnivore. He died of an aortic aneurysm in 2010 at the age of 48.
Career
His musical career began in 1979 when he formed the short-lived heavy metal band Fallout. After the demise of Fallout in 1982, he formed Carnivore. In 1989, he started Type O Negative (formerly Repulsion) 1989 with his friends Josh Silver, Sal Abruscato and Kenny Hickey.
Family Life
He was the youngest of his parents’ six children.
Trivia
He was an atheist but began drawing closer to God in the latter years of his life.
