About Petter Northug
Before ending his career in 2018, Petter Northug held the record for the highest number of stage wins in the Tour de Ski competition. The Norwegian skier started attracting attention in 2005 when he participated in his first FIS Cross-Country World Cup.
Throughout his career, he won two gold medals at the Winter Olympic and thirteen at the World Championships.
Post retirement
After drawing the curtains down on his career, the Norwegian has worked as a broadcaster and is best known for his association with TV 2. As a musician, he dropped a single in 2020 which was entitled "Petters Jul".
Family
His two siblings Tomas Northug and Even Northug have also been very popular in the sport. He has been in a relationship with a lady called Rachael Nordtomme.
Achievements
Before starting his professional career, he won six Junior World Championship gold medals.
Trivia
He’s also known to be a poker player and participated in the World Series of Poker in 2010.
In 2020, he was given a seven month jail sentence for possessing illegal drugs.
