Philo Farnsworth was a famous American inventor best remembered for his instrumental contributions to the development of the television. He was the first of the five children born to Serena Bastian and Lewis Farnsworth. He was married to Elma "Pem" Gardner from 1926 until his death in 1971. He and Pem had four sons together.
