About Porter Robinson
Porter Robinson taught himself to produce music when he was only 12 years. By the time he reached 18 years old, in 2010, he had made waves in online electronic music circles with his single, “Say My Name”.
Having gained grounds in the dance music genre, he came out with his first studio album, “Worlds” in 2014.
From 2017, he began releasing music under the pseudonym Virtual Self. His other popular singles include “Ghost Voices” and “Shelter”.
Personal Life
He grew up alongside three brothers: Nick, Mark and Robert. He could not go to the University of North Carolina after gaining admission because he wanted to focus on his career in music, which was then coming up nicely.
Achievements
He earned a Grammy Award nomination in the “Best Dance Recording” category in 2019 for his song “Ghost Voices”.
Trivia
He went on an eight-month-long collaboration tour with fellow DJ and producer, Madeon.
He is sometimes referred to by the stage name "Virtual Self".
