Pranab Mukherjee

About Pranab Mukherjee

Pranab Mukherjee was a prominent Indian politician who initially took up the position as a Minister of Finance of India before becoming the 13th President of India in July 2012. He also served as Indian's Minister of Defense as well as the Foreign Minister of India prior to becoming President.

Career

Before entering into politics, he worked as a clerk in the Office of the Deputy Accountant-General in Calcutta before going on to work at the Vidyanagar College, where he taught Political Science. He also worked as a journalist with the Desher Dak.

Family Life

He married Suvra Mukherjee in 1957. He and Suvra had two sons and a daughter. They remained married until her death in August 2015.
