Career
Over the course of four decades, she has had a successful career on stage, screen, and television. She performed in several Broadway productions, including "A Streetcar Named Desire".
“Where the Heart is”, where she played Adrienne Rainey, was her first major television role (1972–1973). On television, she has made numerous cameos in shows like “Adam-12”, “L.A. Law”, “The A-Team”, “Judging Amy”, “Disturbed” and “Cold Case”. Her daughter Amy Irving co-starred with her in a number of films, including “Carrie” (1976), and “The Competition” (1980).
