1954 baseball Hall of fame Inductee Walter James Vincent Maranville is an American baseball player who is remembered for his eccentric nature on the field and his defensive capabilities.
Career
Maranville made his professional debut with the Boston Braves in 1912 and continued to be with the team till 1920. Maranville's speed quickly established him as one of the best short stoppers. He continued to hold this accolade even after joining Pittsburgh Pirates in 1921. After three years with the Pirates he was traded to the Chicago Cubs. He joined the Brooklyn Robins in 1926. The baseball player plied his trade for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1927 to 1928. The Boston Braves was his last stop in 1929. He played for the Braves until he retired in 1935.
