About Rabindranath Tagore
Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali who holds the distinction as the first ever non-European to receive a Nobel Prize in Literature. Known for his influence in the Bengali literature, music, and in the Indian art, he was also credited for the recognition of Indian culture in the western world. He was also notable for his modern take on Bengali art. Some of his most known works include Song Offerings (1910), The Post Office (1912), Fair-Faced (1910), and The Home and the World (1916).
Creator of Anthems
Tagore was responsible for the composition of the national anthems of India and Bangladesh, as well as the original national anthem of Sri Lanka.
