Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a Pakistani Qawwali musician and playback singer for the Pakistan film industry and Bollywood.
He is best known for his music in films such as Dabangg (2010), My Name is Khan (2010) and Sultan (2016).
Family Life
He is the grandchild of Fateh Ali Khan and the nephew of Nusrat F. Ali Khan, all Qawwali singers. He was born to Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan, who trained him alongside his uncle Nusrat, from the tender age of seven.
Achievements
He performed at the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, making him the first Pakistani to perform at a Nobel Prize concert.
In 2012, he won the award for 'Best Music Talent in a Film' at the 14th London Asian Film Festival.
The University of Oxford awarded him an Honorary Doctorate of Music in June 2019.

He has been featured in four different seasons of the famous Pakistani musical show titled, Coke Studio.
His debut song as a playback singer was “Mann Ki Lagan” in Bollywood movie, Paap (2003).
He toured the Wembley and Manchester Arena in the UK, performing to an audience of more than 20,000 people in 2012.
In 2019, he was summoned by the Enforcement directorate of the Indian government on allegations of smuggling foreign currency.
