Rahul Dravid is a former Indian cricketer known by nicknames such as The Wall and Mr. Dependable. He is believed to be one of the greatest batsmen in the history of the sport of cricket. During the ICC awards ceremony in 2004, he won the ICC Player of the Year award.
Career
He began playing cricket when he was 12 years old. He played for the Karnataka cricket team’s under-15, under-17 and under-19 sides. He joined the India national cricket team in 1996 and made his international debut in April that same year. His World Cup debut came in the 1999 Cricket World Cup.
Personal Life
He married Vijeta Pendharkar in 2003. The couple welcomed their first child in 2005. Their second child was born in 2009.
