Raina Telgemeier is a talented American cartoonist who is known to be the creator of the webcomic titled “Smile (A Dental Drama)”, which was initially published as a novel by the Scholastic Press's Graphix in 2010.
She’s also known to be the author of some renowned graphic novels which include “Drama”, “Sisters”, and “Ghost”.
Her career received a massive boost after she joined the Girlamatic webcomics site in 2004. This gave her the chance to develop her stories.
Family
She’s the daughter of Sue and Denis. Her siblings are called Amara and Will. In 2006, she married Dave Roman, a cartoonist. However, they got separated in 2015.
Achievements
Her novel titled “Smile” won her the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award in 2010. The following year, she received the “Best Publication for Teens” prize at the Eisner Award ceremony.
