About Ramzan Kadyrov
Ramzan Kadyrov has gained notoriety for purported human rights abuses while serving as the Head of Chechen Republic, a constituent republic of Russia. He had first served as the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic from May 2004 to November 2005. Next, he was in office as Prime Minister from March 2006 to April 2007. He was nominated by Russian President Putin as President of the Republic of Chechen in 2007.
Family Life
He was born to Aimani and Akhmat Kadyrov, who was also in power as the President of Chechen. Since 1996, he has been married to Medni Musaevna Kadyrova, with whom he has 12 children. He has been reported to have two more wives according to international media.
Trivia
He denied reports of encouraging the murder of gay men in Chechen, just as he has done for those concerning war crimes he has been accused of.
