About Randy Johnson
Randy Johnson, also known by the nickname “The Big Unit”, is a retired American baseball player known for his illustrious career in Major League Baseball playing for a number of teams including the Seattle Mariners, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Yankees. By the time he ended his playing career in 2009, he had joined the ranks of the greatest pitchers in major league history.
Personal Life
He married Lisa Wiehoff in 1993 and fathered four children with her. He also fathered a child with another woman prior to marrying Lisa.
Achievements
His accomplishments include helping the Diamondbacks win the 2001 World Series and receiving the Cy Young Award five times.
In 2015, he received his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Trivia
During a game in 2001, he unintentionally hit a bird in flight with a pitch and ended the poor bird's life.
