Personal life
He was named Raymond John Barry and was the son of Barbara Constance Barry, an actress and Raymond Barry, a sales officer. His mother was a descendant of Irish, Canadian and Swedish origins. He gained an education at Lynbrook High School then proceeded to gain higher education at Brown University. He graduated with a degree in Philosophy then proceeded to Yale Drama School. He later made Robyn Mundell his wife and birthed four children with her.
Career
He started his acting career in plays and gained popularity on stage. He featured in over seventy plays before he got the opportunity to feature in a television show. In 1977, he was cast in “Sur Faces”, “The Goodbye Girl” where he played the role of Richard III Cast and “Between the Lines” as Herbert Fisk. As at 2021, he had been in about seventy movies. In 1974, he was featured in his first television series titled “Upstairs, Downstairs”. As of 2019, he has been in almost fifty television series. Some of the television shows he has been in include “13 Reasons Why”, “Law and Order; Criminal Intent” and “The Death and Life of Bobby Z”.
