Reggie Wayne is a retired American footballer who mostly played for the Indianapolis Colts for fourteen years as their wide receiver. Aside from his college team in Miami, Wayne is recorded to have played his whole professional career at the Colts.
Miami Hurricanes
While enrolled in the University of Miami from 1997 to 2000 to study Liberal Arts, he played for the Miami Hurricanes and made more than 170 catches in forty-three games. He also ran in the school’s athletic team where he once recorded 21.87 seconds in a 200 meter heat.
At Indianapolis Colts
Wayne started playing for Indianapolis Colts in 2001 and, in the course of his career, signed varying deals such as the 6-year $39.5 million deal in 2006 and a 3-year contract extension in 2012.
He recorded impressive receipts, including catching eighty-six balls for 1,310 yards and nine touchdowns in 2006.
At the time of retirement in 2016, he had made 232 game appearances with 1,163 receptions for 15,599 yards.
Achievements
After winning against the Broncos in 2003, Wayne was named Wild Card Weekend Offensive Player of the Week.
He was the ninth best receiver in NFL history to record 14,000 yards in October 2014 as well as beat the records of Cris Carter and Washington Redskins.
He was inducted into the Colts Ring of Honor in 2018.
