About Rhonda Vincent
Rhonda Vincent is an award-winning musician and multi-instrumentalist. She is best known for being one of the best bluegrass genre musicians of the 1970s and 1980s. She was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2020.
Childhood
Vincent was born in Kirksville, Missouri. Coming from a family of musicians, she started singing gospel songs with her family’s band, later called the Sally Mountain Show. She attended Northeast Missouri State University and studied accounting.
Music Career
After being in her family’s band for many years, Vincent embarked on her solo career in bluegrass music, releasing her debut solo album “New Dreams and Sunshine” in 1988. She returned to her bluegrass after finding little success going mainstream.
Honors
Vincent was the first recipient of the Bluegrass Star Award in 2010.
In 2017, she was inducted into the Missouri Music Hall of Fame.
