About Richard Rorty
Richard Rorty was a famous American philosopher whose works focused on analytic philosophy. He was of the opinion that a person’s knowledge was a "mirror of nature" and went on to advocate for neopragmatism in the United States.
In order to spread his arguments, Rorty published many books with the most popular ones titled “Contingency, Irony and Solidarity” and “Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature”. He also worked at a number of universities including Princeton University, Stanford University and the University of Virginia.

He was born to Winifred and James Rorty who was a renowned poet. This writer later became the husband of Mary Varney Rorty.
Education
Rorty graduated from the University of Chicago before joining Yale University.
Recognition
In 2007, the American Philosophical Society gave him the Thomas Jefferson Medal. He was also elected into a number of institutions including the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society.
