About Ricky Hatton
Ricky Hatton, also known by the nickname “The Hitman”, is a retired British boxer whose professional career lasted from 1997 until his retirement in 2012. During this time, he won multiple minor and major world titles such as the IBF light-welterweight title and the WBA welterweight title. He is regarded by many as one of Britain's most successful boxers of all time. Upon his retirement as a professional boxer, he became a boxing promoter.
Personal Life
He was born to Carol and Ray Hatton. He was raised with a younger brother name Mathew Hatton, who also became a renowned professional boxer. He became a father for the third time after Jennifer Dooley gave birth to their daughter in 2013.
Achievements
In 2005, The Ring magazine named him the Fighter of the Year.
He was awarded an MBE in 2007 for his outstanding services to sport.
Trivia
In 2010, he went into rehab to tackle his problems with depression and substance abuse.
