About Rin Tin Tin
Rin Tin Tin was a German Shepherd who became a movie star during the 1920 and 30s. Rescued by American army officer Lee Duncan during the First World War, the canine was used in over 20 Hollywood films.
He made his debut in the 1922 film entitled “The Man from Hell's River” where he appeared alongside Irving Cummings and Eva Novak. It is believed that Rin played a huge role in Warner Bros’ successes during that period. Some popular silent movies that he appeared in were “A Dog of the Regiment” and “Tracked by the Police”.
Background
He was born in France. After he was rescued, he was made the mascot of the 135th Aero Squadron during WWI.

A star was placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to honor his contribution to the movie industry.
