About Rip Torn
Elmore Rual Torn Jr., professionally known as Rip Torn, was an American actor who did voice acting as well. He was also a stage actor who appeared in ten Broadway plays. He died in July 2019 at 88 years old from complications associated with Alzheimer’s.
Family Life
He was the son of Thelma Mary Torn and Elmore Rual Torn Sr.
Torn had six children (Danae, Angelica Page, Tony, Jon, Katie and Claire) with three women (Ann Wedgeworth, Geraldine Page and Amy Wright) whom he was married to at different times in his life.
Trivia
When he was filming the 1970 movie, “Maidstone”, he was captured on camera striking the head of the director, the late Norman Mailer, with a hammer with the excuse that he was unhappy with Mailer’s way of directing. The fight later appeared in the movie.
