About Rob Blake
Canadian pro hockey player Rob Blake was one of the most feared defensemen in the League in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Background & Education
Blake completed his freshman year at Bowling Green State University of Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) where he was drafted and played for three years total in the college ranks, receiving CCHA and NCAA West First All-Star Team honors in 1990.

He married Brandy Fleming in 1998 and they have three children together as of 2021.
Career Highlights
He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings (1990-2000) and won the James Norris Memorial Trophy in 1993.
In 2001, Blake transferred to the Colorado Avalanche where he helped the team win the Stanley Cup championship that year. After about 6 years, he re-signed with the Kings for two years before moving on to play for San Jose Sharks for two years, from 2008-2010.
Blake officially retired from professional hockey in 2010 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014.
