About Rob Hall
Rob Hall was a mountaineer from New Zealand. He began climbing at a very early age. In 1989, he came into contact with Gary Ball who later became his close friend and climbing partner as well. In 1990, he climbed the Seven Summits namely Aconcagua, Mount Everest, Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, Denali, Kosciuszko, and Vinson.
In 1992, he climbed K2 and Mount Everest. The following year, he again climbed Mount Everest but this time around, with his wife. Other mountains Hall climbed include Dhaulagiri (1993), Lhotse (1994), Cho Oyu (1994), and Makalu (1994).
Spouse and children
In 1992, he tied the knot with Jan Arnold. He gave birth to a child named Sarah Arnold-Hall.
Death
In 1996, he died of Hypothermia.
Honor
In 1994, he was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire. In 1999, after his death, he was honored with the New Zealand Bravery Star.
