About Robbie Keane
Retired Irish professional footballer Robert David Keane, popularly referred to as Robbie Keane had a successful two-decade career as a forward. His senior career began at Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1997. After 73 appearances, he went on to have stints at Coventry City, Inter Milan and Leeds United from 1999 to 2002.
He is remembered by many Tottenham Hotspur fans for his exceptional goal-filled seasons with the club. The later part of his club career was spent at LA Galaxy, Aston Villa and ATK.
Family Life
He was raised by parents Robert and Anne Keane in Dublin, Ireland. He got married to Claudine Palmer in June 2008. They have two sons.
Achievements
He won Tottenham’s “Player of the Year” award for three years. He was also named LA Galaxy’s “MVP” from 2012 to 2015.
International and Coaching Career
He played for Ireland’s U16, U18, U20 and senior national teams. With the national teams, he won the 2011 Nations Cup and the 1998 UEFA European U18 Championship.
He served as an assistant manager for Middlesbrough and the national team for the Republic of Ireland.
