About Robert E. Howard
Robert E. Howard started writing historical fiction when he was nine years old. He’s best known as the originator of the ‘Conan the Barbarian’ character which has been featured in many books and onscreen works. One of his earliest works, "The Shadow Kingdom" was the first of his many stories that were published in the Weird Tales magazine.
His other well-known works were titled “Beyond the Black River”, “The Frost Giant's Daughter” and “Wolves Beyond the Border”. He’s also credited for being the first person to introduce the subgenre known as ‘sword and sorcery’.

He grew up as the only child of Hester Jane Ervin and Dr. Isaac Mordecai Howard.
Education
He had his education at Howard Payne College.
Death
He shot himself after he was told that his mum wouldn’t recover from a coma.
Trivia
Before starting his writing career, he trained as a boxer.
He used many pen names including Patrick Ervin, Patrick Mac Conaire, and Sam Walser.
He was also nicknamed Two-Gun Bob.
