Robert Englund is an American actor and singer who gained international stardom for his portrayal of Freddy Krueger in the 1984 hit slasher horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street and its sequels. His other notable film credits include 1989's The Phantom of the Opera, 2000's Python and 2006's Heartstopper.
Family Life
He is the only child of Janis and John Englund. His first marriage was to Elizabeth Gardner in 1968. The marriage ended in 1972. In 1988, he got married to his second wife Nancy Booth.
Trivia
He directed his first film 976-EVIL in 1988.
As a child, he was scared of girls with pigtails for several years after accidentally watching the 1956 horror film The Bad Seed.
