About Robert Loggia
Salvatore Loggia, popularly referred to as Robert Loggia, was an American actor and director. He started acting professionally at 24 years old and debuted on Broadway the following year (in 1955) through the play “The Man with the Golden Arm”.
He was best known for roles such as Mr MacMillan in the 1988 film, “Big” and Sam Ransom in the legal thriller film, “Jagged Edge”.
Family Life
He was born to Sicilian immigrants to the United States, homemaker Elena Blandino and shoemaker Biagio Loggia. He was raised in Staten Island, New York City.
He had three children with his first wife, Marjorie Sloan. A year after their 1981 divorce, he married Audrey O’Brien and become a stepfather to her daughter, Cynthia Marlette.
Achievements
He received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2010. His performance in “Big” won him a Saturn Award.
Death
He died from complications of Alzheimer’s disease on 4 December 2015.
