He has written and directed the Spy Kids series currently consisting of four films: Spy Kids, Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, and Spy Kids: All the Time in the World.
He is credited for giving Salma Hayek her initial break in Hollywood by casting her alongside Antonio Banderas in 1995’s Desperado. Rodriguez also co-directed the comic book-based movie Sin City and its sequel, calling the shots with Frank Miller and Quentin Tarantino (first film only).
