About Róisín Murphy
Before starting her solo career, Róisín Murphy gained fame as a member of the duo Moloko. She was an instrumental figure in the recording of the group’s many hit songs such as "Familiar Feeling" and "The Time Is Now". Their maiden album “Do You Like My Tight Sweater?”, which was released in 1995, has been described as one of their most successful works.
Solo career
After leaving the group in 2004, the Irish singer began his career as an independent artiste. The following year, she issued her maiden album entitled “Ruby Blue”. By the end of 2020, she had dropped a total of five albums including “Róisín Machine”, which is widely described as her most successful work.
Family
Her relationship with Simon Henwood, a British artist, produced a daughter called Clodagh. In 2012, she announced the arrival of her child, Tadhg, with Sebastiano Properzi.
Awards
As a member of Moloko, she won an MTV Europe Music Awards in 2000. She further won the Edison Awards with the group four years later.
During the 2016 AIM Independent Music Awards, she won the “Outstanding Contribution to Music prize.
Trivia
Before music, she took up many jobs including being a dealer in antiques.
