Born on November 16, 1883 in Indiana, Zeider started playing baseball in high school, and by 1905, he was playing for the minor league.
Career Highlights
Known for his speed and commitment, Zeider was acquired by the White Sox in 1909 and made his debut with the team in 1910. He had a career-high 49 stolen bases and was among the top 5 rookies of the year for 1910 and 1912. Zeider played briefly with the New York Yankees in 1913 and moved to the Whales in 1914. This Indiana-native was the first player to hit home runs for three different Chicago teams. In 1918, he won the National League pennant and got to his only World Series playing with the Cubs. Zeider was inducted into the Northeast Indiana Baseball Association Hall of Fame in 1965.
