The New York-born actress and gossip writer is known for her appearance on the morning television show, “Good Morning America” in 1975. She was co-host of NBC’s “Tomorrow”, which ran from October 1973 to December 1981. She became a senior reporter for the American news magazine program “Entertainment Tonight” from 1983 to 1986.
Barret had cameo roles in the film “The Phynx” directed by Lee H. Katzin in 1970 and in the twelfth episode of season 8 of the television series “Mannix”.
She is also the founder of the Rona Barrett Foundation, a non-profit organization and also the Rona Barrett Lavender Company.
She published the novel “The Lovo-maniacs” in 1972 and her autobiography “Miss Rona” in 1974. She is also the author of “How You Can Look Rich and Achieve Sexual Ecstasy”.
Family
She was married to Bill Trowbridge in 1973 but they got divorced in 1982. She later wed Daniel Busby.
Honors
The actress was given a Golden palm Star on the Palms Springs Walk of Stars in 2009.
