About Ronnie Lott
Born Ronald Mandel Lott, but professionally known as Ronnie Lott, he is a former American gridiron player. He played in the cornerback, strong safety, and free safety positions during his career in the NFL that lasted about 14 seasons between 1980 and 1990. He is regarded as among the best hitters and safety position players in the history of the NFL.
Career & Records
Lott is a proud alumnus of the University of Southern California. During his college education, he was the first choice safety of the University’s football team. In addition, in his final year, he was part of the 1980 All-American team.
The San Francisco 49ers drafted Lott as the eighth-best selection of the NFL’s 1981 draft. He spent ten NFL seasons at 49ers, in which they won four Super Bowl titles and eight division championships. He then left the 49ers for the Los Angeles Raiders in 1991.
He also played for the New York Jets in 1993 and 1995 for the Kansas City Chiefs. He is a Pro Football Hall of Famer and is part of the NFL’s 100th and 75th Anniversary teams. He entered into sports broadcastings after his NFL retirement. As of 2020, he hosted PAC-12’s Playbook show.

He is one of the wealthiest retired NFL footballers and owns a Mercedes Benz and Toyota dealership.
