About Rory Kennedy
Rory Kennedy is an American filmmaker and activist. Even before she became known for her documentaries, she was in the public eye since birth as the youngest child of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who was murdered six months before her birth. Her documentaries focus on predominant social issues such as nuclear radiation, addiction, the Mexican border wall politics and how prisoners-of-war are treated. As an activist, she has supported a number of non-profit and social activism organizations.
Family Life
She was raised alongside ten older siblings. Her mother, Ethel Kennedy has been a human rights advocate. Since 1999, she has been married to Mark Bailey, an American documentary film writer. They have three children together.
Achievements
Her work has earned her awards such as the Primetime Emmy Award, Full Frame Career Award and the Woodstock Film Festival award.
Trivia
Her best-known works include “American Hollow”, “Pandemic: Facing AIDS” and “Ghosts of Abu Ghraib”.
