About Rosalind Franklin
Rosalind Franklin was an English chemist. In 1947, she went to Paris as a post-doctoral researcher at the "Laboratoire Central des Services Chimiques de l'Etat". There, she became an accomplished X-ray crystallographer.
Her Legacy
She was a pioneer in the understanding of the molecular structures of DNA, RNA, viruses, coal and graphite.
Her Personal Life
Her closest relationship was with her student Donald Caspar, but she never got married. She died of ovarian cancer at the age of 37.
Fun Facts
James Watson suggested that she would have ideally been awarded a Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Maurice Wilkins.
