After taking up a number of jobs, Rose Wilder Lane started working as a media person in 1915 when she joined the San Francisco Bulletin as one of their editorial assistants. After three years with the organization, she started working as a freelancer with the majority of her works appearing in publications such as Saturday Evening Post, and Harper's.
As an author
Aside from her work with media organizations, she also wrote a number of books. Her first recognized work came in 1915 which was under the title “The Story of Art Smith”. She also gained global recognition for her numerous books like “Henry Ford's Own Story” and “The Discovery of Freedom”.
Family
She was the daughter of renowned writer Laura Ingalls Wilder, celebrated for her “Little House on the Prairie” series. Her dad was called Almanzo Wilder. Between 1909 and 1918, she was married to Claire Gillette Lane.
Trivia
She was known to be one of the founders of the movement known as American libertarian.
Before starting her writing career, she worked with Western Union. She also worked with Fairmont Hotel as a telegrapher.
