About Roy Scheider
Most of Roy Richard Scheider’s 44-year career in professional acting was focused on leading and supporting roles in feature films. He first came to prominence in 1971 with his portrayal of Detective Buddy Russo in “The French Connection”. His other notable roles included Joe Gideon in “All That Jazz” and Martin Brody in “Jaws”.
