Background & Early Life
During childhood, she was a brilliant competitive dancer. Unfortunately, at age 14, she suffered a brutal injury to her legs when she accidentally jumped off a stage during a performance. She later turned to musical theater, learning the guitar and songwriting techniques. At age 18, she relocated to Los Angeles and worked in a restaurant.
Career Highlights
In 2017, she independently released her debut single, “Temperance.” In 2018, she released her second song, “Together,” and landed a feature with Tomme Profitt on the single “Wicked.”
Royal & the Serpent signed a record deal with Atlantic Records in 2019. Her first song under the label “Overwhelmed” was released in June 2020 and peaked at number 20 on Billboard’s “Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.” Between June 2020 and January 2022, she released 3 Eps under Atlantic, “Get a Grip,” “IF I DIED WOULD ANYONE CARE,” and “Searching for Nirvana.” She was also featured in “Sound the Alarm” by Rivers Cuomo.
