About Rudolph Pariser
Having served in the US army during World War II and as a physical and polymer chemist, Rudolph Pariser's life and career have been devoted to preserving human lives.
Early Life
He was born in Harbin, China, but in 1944, he applied to naturalize as an American citizen. In 1944, he earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and in 1950, the University of Minnesota awarded him a Ph. D. in physical chemistry.
He served in the US Army from 1944 to 1946, both during and immediately after World War II.
Career
He worked at DuPont in the Experimental Station's Central Research Department for the most part of his career as a polymer chemist. He progressed to the position of Polymer Sciences Director, where he oversaw the department's growth in innovation.
Along with Robert G. Parr, he developed the Pariser-Parr-Pople method (PPP method) in 1953. The method involves the application of semi-empirical quantum mechanical methods to the quantitative prediction of electronic structures and spectra.
Pariser established his own consulting firm after leaving DuPont.
Personal Life
He got married to Margaret Louise Marsh in 1972.
