About Rudyard Kipling
Rudyard Kipling was an English journalist, short-story writer, poet and novelist famous for his numerous works of fiction such as The Jungle Book, Kim, and The Man Who Would Be King. His most famous poems include Gunga Din, The Gods of the Copybook Headings and The White Man's Burden. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest short story writers of all time.
He was the son of Alice Kipling and John Lockwood Kipling. In 1892, he married Caroline Starr Balestier, with whom he had three children: Elsie Bambridge, Josephine Kipling and John Kipling.
In 1907, he was honored with the Nobel Prize in Literature, making him the first English language writer recipient of the award.
