About Sacha Guitry
Having five spouses, all of whom were rising actresses whose careers he helped advance, made his life as exciting as the projects he wrote. Alexandre-Pierre George's "Sacha" Guitry, a playwright, actor, screenwriter, and director, excelled in all areas of filmmaking while following in the footsteps of his father, the actor Lucien Guitry.
Early Life
He was born as the third child of Guitry and his spouse Marie-Louise-Renée. At age five, he made his professional theatrical debut with his father's firm. He attended Lycée Janson de Sailly but later left.
Career
“Le Page,” a brief musical composition, served as his debut in the playwriting world. His debut performance was in “L'Escalier,” and with “Nono,” (1905) he had his first theatrical hit. He returned to the stage in 1907 to perform in his own play entitled, "Chez les Zoaques," and in 1916, he put together "Ceux de chez nous," his debut film.
Following a few plays, he moved back to filmmaking for the project "Pasteur," a biopic of the illustrious scientist. "Assasins et voleurs" (1955) and "Les Trois font la paire" (1957) were the two comedies to cap off his career.
