About Sammy Gravano
Sammy Gravano is an Italian-American former criminal kingpin, who is noted to be a former prominent member and underboss of the "Gambino crime family” - who are noted to have dominated and organized crime activities in USA, particularly in New York City.
Gravano was behind the downfall of his fellow mobster and crime boss, John Gotti – he testified against Gotti and some other members of the gang, revealing his participation in crimes that involved about 19 murders.
He is also known by the alias, "Sammy the Bull". He had his first shot at criminality when he joined a street gang named, 'Rampers'.
Ironically, Gravano served in the United States Army after being drafted in 1964.
Family Life
His father is known as Giorlando Gravano, who operated a small dress factory, and his mother’s name is Caterina Gravano.
He got married to Debra Scibetta in 1971 and they both stayed married for about 25 years, before their tragic separation in 1996.
He is noted to be the last of three children. He has two older sisters. His children include; Gerard and Karen Gravano – who is an American actress.
Trivia
He was named "the bull" when a gangster member saw the way he fought a group of bullies in other to collect back his bike, which was initially ceased from him.
While growing up, he had dyslexia – a reading disorder.
Growing up, Gravano punched his school officials on two different occasions.
