About Samuel Mudd
Samuel Mudd was an 18th-century physician from the U.S. He was noted to be one of the brains behind the assassination of the then U. S. President, Abraham Lincoln in 1865. He was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment. But fortunately for him, after spending four years in prison, he was pardoned and released by President Andrew Johnson.
Education
He was educated at St. John's Literary Institute, Georgetown College, and the University of Maryland.
Family
He was the child of Henry Lowe Mudd and Sarah Anne Reeves. He had three siblings named Henry Lowe Mudd Jr., James Anthony Mudd, and Mary Clare Mudd.
In 1857, he got married to Sarah Frances Dyer. His nine children included Mary Eleanor Mudd and Edward Joseph Mudd.
Death
In 1883, Mudd died of pneumonia.
