About Satoru Iwata
Satoru Iwata worked as a programmer and later became the president of HAL Laboratory Company in 1993. It all started while studying in the university. Satoru Iwata was hired by HAL Laboratory, a video game developer based in Japan.
After seven years, he moved to popular game developing company Nintendo to head their corporate planning department. In 2002, he was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and President of the company. During his time with the organization, he introduced many innovative ideas including the Nintendo DS, the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS.

Iwata studied at Hokkaido Sapporo South High School before moving to Tokyo Institute of Technology.
