Scott Brown’s initial dream was to become a model. At the age of 22, he won a contest dubbed "America's Sexiest Man" which was organized by Cosmopolitan magazine. He would later be represented by renowned agency, Wilhelmina Models.
His political career began in the early 1990s when he was appointed as Wrentham’s property assessor. He was selected into the town’s Board of Selectmen in 1995. Three years later, he became a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. In 2010, he was selected to represent the state at the U.S. Senate.
He was appointed U.S. ambassador to Samoa and New Zealand in 2017 by then President, Donald Trump. He has spent most of his political life as a member of the Republican Party.
His parents, Judith Ann and Claude Bruce Brown separated when he was one year old. He married former news anchor Gail Huff in 1986, and together they have two children namely Arianna and Ayla. The latter is known for her time in the 2006 edition of the reality series “American Idol”.
He studied at Wakefield High School before obtaining his first degree from Tufts University. He was later trained at Boston College Law School.
He is a recipient of the United Chamber of Commerce’s “Public Servant of the Year Award”. In 2010, the Boston Globe named him as the “Bostonian of the Year”.
Between ages 13 and 14, he was arrested many times for shoplifting.
In 2011, he published his autobiography titled “Against All Odds”.
He is widely celebrated for his stance on many social issues including Crime and security, LGBT rights, and Drug policy.
