Career
He started acting in the 1960’s. At the beginning of his career, the first few movies he featured in had him play roles of a murder suspect. His first movie was “In the Heat of the Night”. He also acted in “In Cold Blood” where he played the role of Richard Hickock, a real-life murderer.
In 1967, he made it to the cover of Life Magazine. His role in “Dead Man Walking” got him more recognition. He has featured in over fifty television programs including “Elvis and the Colonel: The Untold Story”, “The Walking Dead”, “Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon”, “The Exorcist” and “The Great Gatsby”.
Achievements
In 1980, his role in the movie “The Ninth Configuration” got him nominated for a Golden Globe award for “Best Supporting Actor”. In 2007 he was honored with the Ralph Morgan Award.
Death
In October 2018, a day before the premiere of the show “The Walking Dead” which he had starred in, Scott died of Leukemia. The show was dedicated to him.
