Sergio Romo began his professional career as a baseball player in 2005 as a member of Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in the Northwest League, though he had been selected by Major League Baseball’s San Francisco Giants.
The American made his MLB debut with the team three years later. For eight years, he was a member of the Giants and helped them to win the World Series in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
Romo, who has spent the majority of his career as a pitcher, has gone on to play for other well-known teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, and Oakland Athletics.

His father Frank, who played baseball at the amateur level, taught him how to play the game. He has been married to a lady called Chelsea, and together they have children named Rex and Rilen.
Education
He studied at Brawley Union High School where he was also a member of their baseball team. After graduating, he went to Orange Coast College before joining Arizona Western College. He also attended Mesa State College, and the University of North Alabama.
