About Shane Carwin
Shane Carwin performed professionally as an MMA fighter from 2005 to 2013. Prior to that, he had competed in collegiate wrestling while studying at the Western Colorado University.
He participated in the Ring of Fire Championship and landed an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) deal after winning the former. Following a string of injuries in the UFC, he officially retired in May 2013.
Family Life
He grew up alongside two brothers under the care of their single mother. He has been married and divorced. His second child was born in 2010.
Achievements
His MMA championships include the Ring of Fire Heavyweight Championship and UFC Heavyweight Championship. He is also a member of the NCAA Division II Wrestling Hall of Famer.
Trivia
Several attempts to return to professional MMA fighting after his retirement were unsuccessful.
