About Shawn Green
Shawn Green was a Major League Baseball (MLB) player with four different teams. On three occasions, he placed in the top ten in the league. Green was voted MVP and impressive stats speaks volume of his sportsmanship.
Early Life
He attended Tustin High School where he tied the California Interscholastic Federation record with 147 hits during his senior year and finished third in his academic class.
Career
Green received a baseball scholarship to Stanford University in 1991, but the Toronto Blue Jays also selected him in the first round of the amateur draft.
He made his Major League debut for the Blue Jays in1993. The Blue Jays later dealt him to the Los Angeles Dodgers in November 1999.
He played for the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2005 - 2006, and from 2006 to 2007 he was a member of the New York Mets.
After 15 years of Major League Baseball play, Green announced his retirement in 2007.
