Sherwood Charles Schwartz, an American screenwriter and producer, was in his 90s when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2008, he was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame.
Family Life and Background
His career in showbiz "just happened". He started making jokes for Bob Hope's radio program out of necessity because his brother Al Schwartz worked there.
Later, he contributed to various radio programs and Ozzie Nelson's “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet”. He spent more than four years in the American Army.
He served as The Red Skelton Show's chief writer from 1956 -1962; in recognition of his work, he received an Emmy Award in 1961.
“The Brady Bunch” and "Gilligan's Island," were his creations. His TV appearances include the CBS Evening News and a "Roseanne" episode.
His wife's name was Mildred Seidman. He passed away in Los Angeles on July 12, 2011, aged 94.
