About Shin Ji-min
Shin Ji-min is a retired South Korean rapper and singer. She gained widespread recognition as the leader of AOA, a Korean girl group that made its debut in 2012 with eight members. In 2015, her participation in season one of the female rap competition show “Unpretty Rapstar” helped kickstart her solo career through the release of hit singles such as “Puss”, “Good Start” and “T4SA”.
In 2016, she released her first official single entitled “Call You Bae”.
Family Life
She grew up in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. She studied in China for two years.
Achievements
She was nominated for a Melon Music Award in the “Hot Trend Award” category in 2015.
Trivia
In July 2020, she announced via Instagram that she was retiring from the Korean entertainment industry after former AOA member Kwon Mina alleged that she (Jimin) had endlessly bullied her.
