About Sid Caesar
Sid Caesar was an American actor, comedian, saxophonist and writer remembered for his work on the iconic variety show Your Show of Shows as well as on the sketch comedy television show Caesar's Hour. Throughout his career, he starred in several famous films such as 1963's It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, 1976's Silent Movie and 1978's Grease and its 1982 sequel.
Family Life
He was the youngest of the three children born to Ida and Max Ziser. He married Florence Caesar in 1943 and fathered three children with her. The marriage lasted until Florence’s death in 2010.
Achievements
Throughout his career, he won a string of awards, including two Emmy Awards.
He was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 1960 and 1985 respectively.
Trivia
For several years, he struggled with addictions to alcohol and barbiturates.
